Consider the scenario of Germans hiding Jews from the Nazis. Does the German family tell the officers there are Jews in the basement knowing that they will be sent to the death camp? Or do they lie and try to save the lives of the Jews?

On the one hand, if they tell the truth, they are being honest. However, they are condemning innocent lives to death. On the other hand, they are lying but could be saving lives. However, if they lie and then the Nazis find the Jews, that family could be in even more trouble than if they had told the truth. It’s quite a conundrum. What would you do?
